Custom-made Glasses
Regardless of the design or the material chosen, all glasses go through the same process of creative process. Beyond the choice of design and material, this process consists of precise measuring, meticulous manufacturing, and finally, the fitting.

Measurements
Using traditional techniques and unique savoir-faire, at Maison Bonnet we extensively measure facial features. Such a process is necessary to guarantee a perfect fitting. We are the only high-end eyewear designer to provide the same service to all our clients.
Having the exact measurements is crucial to creating the perfect pair of glasses. We measure the three different angles of the nose, the gap between the temples and the structure of the skull. Cheekbones and iris size are taken into account to ensure optimum comfort. However, at Maison Bonnet, we also have our own secrets on what else needs to be measured. This knowledge, inherited from a long tradition of handmade eyewear, is what allows us to create the perfect map of the face and, through this, the most harmoniously designed pair of glasses for each face.
All Maison Bonnet eyeglasses are custom-made and handmade.
Manufacturing
The movements and techniques practiced to conceive and finish each pair of glasses at Maison Bonnet are almost a century old. They have been repeated and perfected throughout the decades. These timeless rituals are carefully applied to shape each frame.
Shaping :
The genuine character of Maison Bonnet eyewear is due to our strict handmade-only policy. Every frame is conceived and designed in order to absorb or reflect the light in a particular manner. This gives the eyewear incomparable depth, with the light emphasizing the volumes, the lines, and the perspectives of the frame. Like a piece of art.
At Maison Bonnet “handmade” has nothing to do with the industrial “handmade” label. In our workshops, we actually manufacture each and every pair by hand, from shaping to assembling. All the pairs coming out of our workshops are unique, even if the design may be similar from one pair to another.
In practice – a few figures
Hours of labour vary between 6 and 30 hours per pair, depending on the material ;
Delivery generally takes from 5 to 12 weeks.
The time spent with each client is an average of two and a half hours spread over 2 to 3 appointments :
The first appointment is the longest. Taking place in the Maison Bonnet private apartment, it focuses on advising on shape, colour and material combinations, measurements, sight control and picking the eyeglass lens.
The second appointment is for the fitting.
Finally, the third appointment addresses final adjustments and delivery.
Note to foreign or out-of-Paris based clients: second and third appointments will be scheduled on the same day.
For special/unique designs, one additional appointment will be required for prototype fitting.
